cerebral stroke


The term cerebrovascular accident (stroke) is applied to events of severe acute cerebrovascular disease. Resulting in both physical and mental paralysis. WHO defines stroke as' rapidly developed clinical signs of focal disturbance of cerebral function, lasting more than 24 hours or resulting in death, with no other apparent cause of vascular origin. "

Causes and symptoms

The interruption of brain function may be due to three morphological abnormalities, ie, stenosis, occlusion or rupture of arteries.

Cerebral dysfunction manifested with different symptoms and neurological signs that are related to the scope and location of the area and its causes. These include coma, hemiplegia, paraplegia, monoplegia, more paralysis, slurred speech, paresis of the nerve, sensory, etc., which is the primary somato hemiplegic neurological disorders in about 90 percent of patients.

Line includes a number of syndromes with different etiologies, epidemiology, prognosis and treatment. These include subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral thrombosis or embolism, and before occlusion of cerebral arteries, transient cerebral ischemia (more than 24 hours).

Risk Factors

Race does not occur at random, but risk factors like hypertension, cardiac abnormalities, diabetes, high blood lipids, obesity, smoking, blood coagulation and viscosity, and then continue several years.

Diet

The diet should be well balanced, particularly the B vitamins and vitamin C, because of the need for the health of blood vessels. Vitamin E helps prevent blood clots, reducing the need for oxygen.
